How does it remove scale and kill corrosion bacteria?...

Once the Bio-Sure® is introduced into the water system, it starts working immediately. The dissolving product flows though the water system, softening any calcium carbonate (scale) that may be present. Scale is the root cause for problems such as inefficient heat transfer, corrosion, water flow and resistance problems within water transfer systems.

Under the scale hides the corrosion bacterium which thrives in this warm protected environment. Traditional chemicals have difficulty in removing this scale wall that protects the corrosion bacteria. If the bacterium is not exposed, the traditional chemicals introduced cannot penetrate the scale and kill the corrosion effectively.

With the Bio-Sure® system, after a period of 6-8 weeks, the softened scale is slowly removed by the velocity of water movement flowing through the pipes, which then exposes the corrosion bacteria. The silver ions then attack and kill these bacteria on contact preventing any further mutation. The removed scale is kept in solution & exits the water system via the bleed off or drainage system.

At this stage of the process, you will detect a high bacteria count via your Pourplate test samples, this is normal, as the scale and corrosion bacteria are being removed from the system.

How does it stop new scale from forming and inhibiting corrosion bacteria?

Once the scale and corrosion bacteria have been removed by the Bio-Sure® the insides of the system are thinly lined with silicon. This silicon charge then repels any scale or corrosion bacteria adhering to the pipes, heat exchangers or equipment. This cleansing process takes time and depends on the extent of the fouling within your system. Please note, corrosion activity is always present in all environments and can’t be completely eliminated, the process can only be slowed.
